Best Loyalty Apps for Shopify Plus Brands (2027 Edition)

I spend my days setting up customer loyalty programs for Shopify brands, and Shopify Plus stores are where the app you pick actually starts to matter.

Almost all of them charge by order volume, so your bill climbs as you grow, which you’d expect. What I see catch merchants out is that the features your Plus store actually needs (VIP tiers, paid memberships, POS, Klaviyo flows, checkout extensions) sit on the higher tiers. So you get squeezed from both ends: your order count pushes you up the plans, and the features you need are waiting at the top tier anyway.

So the price on the entry plan tells you almost nothing. I went through the five best customer loyalty apps you can realistically shortlist in 2026 to find where each one gates the features you need and what you’ll really pay once your volume and your feature list are both accounted for.

Here’s what I look for, which apps passed, and how the decision shifts as you grow.

The six things I check in a Shopify Plus loyalty app

The apps in this category look identical on a feature checklist of points, tiers, referrals, and a storefront widget. What separates them is which plan each feature sits on and what that plan costs at your volume. These are the six standards I hold every app to, and where I draw the line between what the loyalty app should own and what belongs in your ESP or CDP.

  1. Analytics depth. The app should track customer lifetime value, loyalty-attributed revenue, and cohort performance (redeemers versus non-redeemers) natively. Predictive analytics I leave to Klaviyo or your CDP, since that’s their job. What I won’t accept is an app that reports points issued and calls it analytics.
  2. Segmentation and personalization. Behavior-based segmentation by recency, frequency, and spend should be built in, with the ability to serve different offers per segment across the product page, cart, and account. Email and SMS personalization should run through a deep native Klaviyo integration and connect to other major ESPs. Churn-risk modeling and adaptive personalization stay in the Klaviyo or CDP layer, where they belong.
  3. Customization and experimentation. Custom reward rules beyond preset templates, plus time-bound and rule-based campaigns like a double-points weekend, without filing a support ticket. A/B testing I expect to run outside the app in your testing tool, so I don’t hold that against an app, but I do check how much you can configure yourself.
  4. Behavior-based rewards. Full coverage means rewards for reviews, social engagement like follows and shares, and custom on-site actions such as product views, add-to-cart, or completing a quiz. Each is a reason to re-engage someone between orders, and each is a place apps quietly gate the good stuff behind a higher plan.
  5. Lifecycle marketing. The strong setups map customers to lifecycle stages (new, active, at-risk, churned), fire stage-specific triggers, automate winback, and move customers between stages as behavior changes. Most of this runs through a deep native Klaviyo integration rather than inside the loyalty app, so what I check is whether the app feeds those stages and triggers cleanly.
  6. Pricing that stays predictable at Plus volume. Published pricing I can forecast, and a top plan that covers high or unlimited order counts without per-order overages stacking on top. The apps that only publish an entry price and quote the rest force a sales call for the number that actually matters to you. I’ll show what each one costs at four volumes further down, since this is the single biggest cost variable for a Plus store.

The 5 best loyalty and reward apps for Shopify Plus brands in 2026

Every claim below is tied to each app’s own pricing pages and feature grids, with live pricing checked this session and current Shopify App Store ratings.

1. Love Loyalty

Best for: Enterprise Shopify plus brands that require fast native performance and want an all in one loyalty app with points, VIP tiers, referrals, and paid memberships, Klaviyo flows, POS, Apple & Google wallet pass, and B2B loyalty in one single app with unlimited orders.

Love Loyalty is the best customer loyalty app for Shopify merchants who want to increase customer lifetime value (LTV). It offers 20+ touchpoints across your storefront, including the loyalty page, product pages, cart, and checkout, so customers see their rewards wherever they shop. The best part is it stores loyalty data in Shopify metafields instead of an external database, so the app makes no extra API calls and loads through native app extensions.

Where it scores against the six criteria:

  • Analytics depth. Tracks customer lifetime value, loyalty-attributed revenue, and cohort performance (redeemers vs non-redeemers) natively.
  • Segmentation and personalization. Behavior-based by recency, frequency, and spend, with different offers per user across product-page, cart, and account widgets. It won’t flag churn-risk users automatically, and the segmentation engine is flexible rather than fully granular.
  • Customization and experimentation. Custom reward logic beyond templates, plus time-bound campaigns like double-points weekends. A/B testing runs outside the app.
  • Behavior-based rewards. Full coverage: reviews, social follows and shares, and custom on-site actions like product views, add-to-cart, and quiz completion.
  • Lifecycle marketing. Stages, stage-specific triggers, automated winback, and dynamic stage movement all run through its deep native Klaviyo integration rather than inside the app.
  • Pricing. Published and forecastable, with the top plan covering unlimited orders.

Reviews & rating: 5.0 out of 5 on the Shopify App Store, with 422 reviews and carrying the Built for Shopify badge.

Pricing:

PlanMonthlyOrders/mo includedOverageFeatures
Professional$12500—Points,  referrals, loyalty page, product-page points,  in-cart redemption, analytics, POS, Klaviyo & 30+ integrations
Growth$792,000+$15 per 100 orders+ paid memberships, VIP tiers, B2B segments, wallet passes, bonus campaigns
Plus$399Unlimited orders—+ Shopify Plus checkout extensions, API access, founder-led onboarding, on-demand development

Where it falls short.

  • The Growth plan’s overage of $15 per 100 orders means if you hover above 2,000 orders a month, you pay for the swing until the unlimited Plus plan makes sense.
  • Its catalog of proof is younger than LoyaltyLion’s or Yotpo’s decade in the market, so if a long public track record convinces your team, that’s a fair point against it.
  • Redeeming rewards inside the checkout depends on Checkout Extensions, a Plus-plan capability.

2. LoyaltyLion

Best for: Brands that can budget high order-based custom pricing.

LoyaltyLion has been in the loyalty market for over a decade, and customers can earn points for purchases, account creation, birthdays, reviews, and social actions, and the platform reports retention, ROI, referral analytics, and customer lifetime value on every plan.

Where it scores against the six criteria:

  • Analytics depth. The in-app dashboard shows loyalty-attributed revenue, redemption performance, and cohort views natively.
  • Segmentation and personalization. Behavior-based segmentation and rule-based on-site personalization are there, though churn-risk segmentation is typically gated to higher tiers.
  • Customization and experimentation. Custom earn rules exist, but they often sit behind a $1,000/mo add-on.
  • Behavior-based rewards. Reviews, social, and custom rules, on par with the rest of this list.
  • Lifecycle marketing. Runs in-app, but duplicates what you likely already run in Klaviyo, so “at-risk” means one thing in LoyaltyLion and another in Klaviyo and the flows fight each other.
  • Pricing. Classic starts at $199/mo and everything above it, including the custom-rule and API add-ons, sits behind enterprise quotes, so your real monthly cost stays opaque until you’re deep in the sales cycle.

Reviews & rating: 4.6 out of 5 on the Shopify App Store, with 511 reviews.

Pricing:

AdvancedCustom quoteCustom quoteCustom quoteVIP tiers included, bonus-point campaigns, product-page points, multi-location POS
PlusCustom quoteCustom quoteCustom quote+ affiliated-brand rewards, AI campaigns, included Klaviyo Flows and events

Where it falls short.

  • Paid memberships aren’t offered natively at any tier, a hard cap if your retention strategy leans on a subscription club or bundled perks.
  • Redeeming points at checkout and seeing earned points post-purchase are marked Shopify Plus only in their own feature grid, and VIP tiers are an add-on on the free plan.
  • Classic starts at $199 a month and everything above it is a custom quote, so you can’t forecast your bill the way you can with a published-tier app.

3. Yotpo Loyalty

Best for: Brands already running Yotpo reviews or SMS that want loyalty inside the same platform.

Yotpo Loyalty is part of Yotpo’s wider commerce platform, so its pull is strongest if you already use their reviews or SMS products.

Where it scores against the six criteria:

  • Analytics depth. In-app analytics are solid, and the cross-product data with Yotpo Reviews is an edge if you already run those products.
  • Segmentation and personalization. Behavior-based, with personalization that spans the wider Yotpo suite when you’re on it.
  • Customization and experimentation. Custom rules and time-bound campaigns are covered.
  • Behavior-based rewards. Wide, with reviews-based rewards a standout through the native Reviews integration, plus social and custom rules.
  • Lifecycle marketing. Works when paired with Yotpo SMS, so it only really works if you commit to the suite.
  • Pricing. The $199 entry tier is among the highest here, and because each product is priced separately, costs compound as you stack Reviews and Loyalty, with mid and enterprise tiers climbing quickly into custom-quote territory.

Reviews & rating: 4.8 out of 5 on the Shopify App Store, with 889 reviews.

Pricing:

PlanMonthlyOrders/mo includedOverageFeature
Pro$199/mo500$20 per 100 ordersPoints for purchase, referrals, dashboards, POS., Klaviyo, checkout redemption.
PremiumCustom quoteCustomCustom+ VIP tiers, custom actions, advanced CSS
EnterpriseCustom quoteCustomCustom+ enterprise CSM and professional services

Pro overage runs $20 per 100 orders up to 1,000 orders, then a flat $100 per additional 1,000 orders.

Where it falls short.

  • The Pro plan starts at $199 a month, and Premium and Enterprise are custom quotes, so a mid-market Plus store faces the same forecasting problem as with LoyaltyLion.
  • Free product redemption and rewards for specific products or collections are Premium-tier features.
  • The app runs its dashboard in a separate window rather than fully inside Shopify admin, which some teams find slower to manage.

4. Growave

Best for: Mid-market brands that want loyalty, reviews, wishlist, and referrals from one vendor and one bill.

Growave bundles five retention tools into one app: loyalty, reviews, wishlist, referrals, and UGC.

Where it scores against the six criteria:

  • Analytics depth. Adequate for the bundled use case, but thinner than a focused platform. If you need deep cohort views or attribution detail, it’s shallower than the dedicated loyalty apps.
  • Segmentation and personalization. Behavior-based.
  • Customization and experimentation. Custom rules are covered, with campaign tooling that’s functional but lighter than purpose-built loyalty apps.
  • Behavior-based rewards. Reviews-based rewards work natively inside the app.
  • Lifecycle marketing. Limited natively.
  • Pricing. The mid-tier jumps to loyalty-platform range for 2,000 orders, and the top Unlimited tier removes the order cap, but you’re paying dedicated-loyalty prices for a bundle whose loyalty module is the lightest part.

Reviews & rating: 4.8 out of 5 on the Shopify App Store, with 1,172 reviews and carrying the Built for Shopify badge.

Pricing:

PlanMonthlyOrders/mo includedOverageFeatures
Growth$1991,500$15 per 100 ordersPoints, referrals, VIP program, loyalty page, 3 integrations
Plus$4993,000$10 per 100 orders+ custom loyalty-page design, REST API, unlimited integrations
Unlimited$999No limit—+ custom integrations, enterprise success manager

Where it falls short.

  • The jump from Entry at $15 to Growth at $199 is steep, and it’s the jump you’ll most likely have to make, since VIP tiers, points expiration, and unlimited integrations all sit at Growth.
  • Checkout extensions for loyalty are a Plus-plan feature.
  • Because each of the five bundled tools is good rather than best-in-class, if you need a deep, dedicated review or loyalty tool, any single module may feel thinner than a specialist app.

5. Joy

Best for: Brands that want a wide feature with paid memberships available as they scale.

Joy packs a lot into its paid tiers for the money, and its published, order-tiered pricing makes it easy to forecast. It carries VIP tiers, B2B tiers, paid memberships, POS, and wallet passes, though those sit on the Advanced plan or higher.

Where it scores against the six criteria:

  • Analytics depth. Analytics arrive on the paid Essential plan. How deep they go on cohort performance and attribution isn’t documented in Joy’s own materials, so I’d verify that before relying on it.
  • Segmentation and personalization. A VIP tier system and a B2B tier system on Advanced.
  • Customization and experimentation. Advanced on-site design from Essential and a rule engine on Advanced, so custom reward logic and timed campaigns are covered from the mid tier up.
  • Behavior-based rewards. Engagement programs, plus social rewards for Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook on Advanced.
  • Lifecycle marketing. Runs through Joy’s Shopify Flow and metafield integrations feeding your ESP rather than native staging. The depth here isn’t documented.
  • Pricing. Published and forecastable, though the features you’ll want sit on Advanced or higher.

Reviews & rating: 4.9 out of 5 on the Shopify App Store, around 1,689 reviews and carrying the Built for Shopify badge.

Pricing:

PlanMonthlyFree orders/moOverageFeatures
Essential$29500+$15 per 100 ordersCore loyalty, widget, pop-ups, 30 referrals, analytics, advanced on-site design
Advanced$1292,000+$10 per 100 orders+ VIP tiers, paid membership, POS
Ultimate$4997,000+$5 per 100 orders+ checkout extensions, APIs, AI copilot, headless.

Where it falls short.

  • The features you’ll most want (VIP tiers, B2B tiers, paid memberships, POS, wallet passes) all live on Advanced or higher, so the low entry price isn’t the price you’ll actually pay.
  • Checkout extensions carry two stacked gates: Ultimate plan and Shopify Plus only.
  • A chunk of the Ultimate tier is AI and agent tooling plus paid add-ons like a design package, so read that top tier as a mix of plan features and extras rather than a flat feature list.

The decision, based on order volume

The plan you land on at your real order volume, and which features unlock there, matters more than the sticker price. Here’s how the five apps compare at four common volumes, using each app’s published pricing.

App~1,000 orders/mo~2,000 orders/mo~5,000 orders/mo10,000+ orders/mo
Love Loyalty$79 (Growth)$79 (Growth)$399 (Plus, unlimited)$399 (Plus, unlimited)

YotpoFrom $199 (Pro)From $199 (Pro) + overageCustomCustom

The plan you’d land on by annual revenue

Order volume is what the apps actually bill on, but most brands think in revenue first.

Here’s the plan I’d put each app on at five revenue levels, and the headline features that unlock there. Treat this as directional: your real order count depends on your average order value, so a low-AOV, high-frequency brand will sit a tier higher than a high-AOV one at the same revenue.

Annual revenueLove LoyaltyJoyGrowaveLoyaltyLionYotpo

$5M+Plus, $399Ultimate, $499Plus, $499Advanced, customPremium, custom
$10M+Plus, $399Ultimate/customUnlimited, $999Plus, customEnterprise, custom

What that buys you at the top of the range, where a Plus brand usually sits:

  • $5M+ on Love Loyalty puts you on Plus at $399/mo flat: unlimited orders, paid memberships, VIP tiers, B2B segments, Checkout Extensions, API access, and founder-led onboarding, with no per-order overage.
  • $5M+ on Joy is Ultimate at $499/mo plus $5 per 100 orders over 7,000, adding checkout extensions, and APIs.
  • $5M+ on Growave is Plus at $499/mo, adding Shopify Plus checkout extensions and custom loyalty-page design, then Unlimited at $999 once you pass the order cap.
  • $5M+ on LoyaltyLion or Yotpo moves you into custom-quote territory, so the monthly number depends on a sales conversation rather than a published tier.

Final thoughts

These are the five apps you can realistically shortlist in 2026, and the feature checklist won’t decide it for you. Every app here does points, tiers, and referrals. The decision comes down to how predictable you need the bill to be, whether you want native memberships, how much native Shopify depth your storefront demands, and how deep your Klaviyo integration has to run.

Start from your order volume, add the features that are non-negotiable, and price the plan that actually covers both. That’s the number that matters, not the one on the pricing page’s cheapest column.
